THE ROLE OF EUROPEAN UNION AGAINST THE RUSSIAN INVASION OF UKRAINE
The Area of Public International Law and International Relations of the University Miguel Hernández of Elche organized within the framework of the current Seminars of the Jean Monnet “Reforzar los valores de la UE: El papel de la ciudadanía activa”,the Conference entitled The EU against the Russian invasion of Ukraine, co-financed by the European Union’s Erasmus + Programme (Jean Monnet Program).
This activity, coordinated by the UMH professor, Elena Crespo Navarro (Jean Monnet Chair holder), took place on Thursday, March 3rd, 2022, in classroom 0.8 of the Altabix Building. (Elche Campus).
In view of recent events and the concern and interest that the Russian invasion of Ukraine has aroused among the population and, especially, among the university community, the session was aimed at reflecting on the role of the EU in this crisis. Intervened Prof. Dr. Carlos Jiménez Piernas, Professor of Public International Law and International Relations at the University of Alcalá and presented Prof. Dra. Elena Crespo Navarro. Professor of Public International Law and International Relations at the UMH.
The activity was free and mainly aimed at students of the Degrees in Law, DADE, Political Science and Public Management, but it is also open to students of other Degrees less related to studies on the European Union, as well as Master’s and PhD students, AUNEX students and the general public.

INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF YOUNG RESEARCHERS: HUMAN RIGHTS AS AN INSTRUMENT OF INTERACTION IN PUBLIC INTERNATIONAL LAW. PRACTICE IN EUROPEA AND IN AMERICA
Within the framework of the activities of the Reflection Group on the future of the European Union and its values, the UMH Jean Monnet Chair participates in the Ibero- American Network on teaching and research in human rights.
In this area, the Chair collaborates in the organization of the International Congress of young researchers “Human rights as an instrument of interaction in Public International Law” which is held in Bogotá on July 11 and 12, 2022 in virtual synchronous mode.
In addition, Professor Elena Crespo Navarro, Jean Monnet Chair holder, moderates panel n.1 entitled “The protection of human rights in Europe: challenges for the Council of Europe and the European Union”, on Monday, July 11.

THE EU’S VALUES IN TIMES OF PANDEMIC
The Area of Public International Law and International Relations of the University Miguel Hernández of Elche organizes, with the co-financing of the Erasmus + Program of the European Union (Jean Monnet), the current Seminar entitled The values of the EU in times of Pandemic
This activity, coordinated by the UMH Professor Elena Crespo Navarro (Jean Monnet Chair: Renforcer les valeurs de l’UE. Le rôle de la citoyenneté active holder), was aimed not only at students of the Degrees in Law, Political Science and Public Management, DADE, ADE, Journalism or Labor Relations, but also from other Degrees less related to studies on European integration, as well as Master and Doctorate students, AUNEX students, secondary education teachers, lawyers, attorneys, members associations and NGOs, and the general public.
The Seminar took place place in a round table format, under the title “The multiannual financial framework 2021-27 and the recovery mechanism for Europe”.
Participated as speakers, Professors Jean Monnet Prof. Dr. Valentín Bou Franch, Professor of Public International Law and International Relations at the University of Valencia, and Prof. Dr. Jaume Ferrer Lloret, Professor of Public International Law and International Relations at the University of Alicante. The round table was moderated by Profa. Dra. Elena Crespo Navarro, Associate Professor of Public International Law and International Relations at the Miguel Hernández University.

COLLABORATION WITH THE SCIENTIFIC SEMINAR ON INDIGENOUS PEOPLES, HUMAN RIGHTS AND TRANSNATIONAL COMPANIES. CHALLENGES FOR IBERO-AMERICA AND THE EU
Within the framework of the activities of the Reflection Group on the future of the European Union and its values, the UMH Jean Monnet Chair participated in the V Scientific Seminar on International Law: Indigenous peoples, human rights and transnational companies. Challenges for Latin America and for the European Union, organized by the Area of Public International Law and International Relations of the University of Alcalá, together with the Nueva Granada Military Institute (Colombia), the National University of Cuyo (Argentina) and the Rafael University Landívar (Guatemala).
The Seminar, which was held online at the University of Alcalá on June 14, 2021, focused on legal problems arising from the interaction between the rights of indigenous peoples and transnational companies, paying special attention to the challenges that this relationship presents for Latin America and the European Union.

This activity, coordinated by UMH Professor Elena Crespo Navarro (Jean Monnet Chair: “Renforcer les valeurs de l’UE. Le rôle de la citoyenneté active” holder), was aimed not only at students of the Degrees in Law, Political Science and Public Management, DADE, ADE, Journalism or Labor Relations, but also from other Degrees less related to studies on European integration, as well as Master and PhD students, AUNEX students, secondary education teachers, lawyers, attorneys, members associations and NGOs, and the general public.

Moderated the round table Profa Dra. Elena Crespo Navarro, Associate Professor of Public International Law and International Relations at the Miguel Hernández University and Jean Monnet Chair Holder.
The Seminar was held on Thursday, February 20 at 4:00 p.m. in Room 0.8 of the Altabix Building (Elche University Campus).

I SEMINAR OF THE REFLECTION GROUP ON THE FUTURE OF THE EUROEPAN UNION
On Monday, November 23, 2020, the First Seminar of the Reflection Group on the future of the European Union took place, organized within the framework of the Jean Monnet Chair Renforcer Les valeurs de l’UE. Le rôle de la citoyenneté active and directed by the Professor of Public International Law and International Relations of the UMH, Elena Crespo Navarro.
On the occasion of the aforementioned Seminar, Dr. Francisco Pascual Vives, Professor Jean Monnet of the University of Alcalá, gave the Conference entitled “The jurisdictional means of international disputes settlement in Europe of the s. XXI ”at 1:00 p.m.
The Conference was broadcast via Google Meet.
